XAMBUCA aka XAMBUCA and Elisa Faires is an ongoing collaboration with husband Chandra Shukla and at times a cast of other guests and characters. The project is steeped in electronics and electroacoustic elements along with the addition of Elisa Faires’ vocals and her other experimental contributions including electronics, found sound, samples and other electroacoustic sources, instruments and objects.

Xambuca has seen Elisa Faires collaborate with her from Chicago to Berlin and more infamously performing alongside Xambuca with maestro Hans Joachim Roedelius and German absurdist/neo-dadaist poet Klaus Becker at More Ohr Less Festival 2012 and also opening for David J Haskins on his solo tour in 2017. Xambuca’s Chandra Shukla also runs Erototox Decodings, the label that’s home to two of Elisa Faires’ releases including Elixir 444 (etd0020) 2010 and Photosynthesis (etd0023) 2014.
